Building a Thermal Detonator

Hello Star wars fans.

first step is having the model, I offer a 3D printed model in my Shapeways store, the model is made from 4 parts and a chassis.

Part one two and there are sold together, part 4 and the chassis are separate perches: BODY and Switch, Grip, Chassis.

you will also need for this build:

one 5mm red LED,

three 3mm warm white LEDs,

A switch,

step 1.

paint your model, there are many ways to paint the model I used a humbrol spray paint (chrome for the body and Gun black for the switch) the grip comes black and it's unnecessary to paint.

step 2.

assemble the switch and grip,

first insert the switch.

after insert the grip, that will lock the two parts together.

step 3.

wire all parts: 5mm LED, three 3mm LEDs, 28mm bass speaker, recharge 2.1 power jack and the battery holder.

i use this wire diagram for wiring you can use the one in plecter labs PDF user's manual for a non recharge port diagram.

step 4.

insert the speaker and recharge port and the battery holder (with the battery) into the chassis then pass the positive 5mm led wire thru the soundboard slot and wire it to the sound board. * your battery is live make sure you don't close the connection from now on, a good practice is to cover the negative wire with electrical tape.

step 5.

wire all the rest of the wires to the soundboard.

step 6.

insert the soundboard into the slot and insert the switch in the space at the top of the hemisphere.

step 7.

insert the 5mm LED, then insert the chassis in place, then the three LEDs in place (you can lock them in place with a bit of hot glue).

last close the two hemisphere together.

end of instruction.

The Thermal Detonator is all done, now pull back the switch and go rescue Han solo form Jaba's palace.

May the Force be with you.
